My Maker Project is a remote controlled amateur radio station built on a limestone ridge about 14 miles from my home. Deed restrictions in my neighborhood preclude having an outside antenna there, so I have a remote station housed in a converted cargo container connected over the internet with my home. All of the receiving, and transmitting equipment, including several towers and many antennas, are installed at the remote site.  This project took several years to complete, and involved a great deal of time and effort, but has allowed me to purse my avocation where otherwise I would not be able to. It also served as a training ground for me, furthering my knowledge of antenna design and construction, tower permitting and construction, lightning protection, preventing property seizure, fighting grass fires, data communications and internet security, and introducing me to many other interesting people who wanted to build the same kind of station.  Click on the link for a full description.
